ACAI SMOOTHIE RECIPES

ACAI BREAKFAST RECIPES

Since it has a low GI and a high content of fibre and essential fatty acids, acai is an ideal way to start your day. Here are some of our favourite recipes.

Rio Bowl – enjoy Acai berries the traditional Brazilian way

We think the Rio Bowl is one of the best inventions ever, and once you try one, you’ll be hooked on this traditional Brazilian breakfast too. Perfect after a morning surf, a delicious Rio Bowl is a sure-fire way to energise your day.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup of ice
  • ¼ - ½ cup of your favourite fruit juice (we recommend apple and mango juice)
  • 1 banana
  • 2 tablespoons RioLife 100% organic freeze-dried acai powder
  • 20 mL guarana syrup (a level tablespoon).
    Alternatively, substitute 100ml quantity of RioLife Acai Guarana Frozen Purée for the freeze-dried powder and guarana syrup and NO ice.

Method: Blend all ingredients in a blender into a thick, creamy consistency. Top with muesli or granola if desired, and eat with a spoon, straight from the bowl.

Acai Cereal Topping – extra oomph for your breakfast

For optimal all-day energy, choose a low-GI breakfast cereal for this recipe (muesli or granola made from oats is one of the best options).

Ingredients

  • A bowl of your favourite cereal
  • 1 hearty dollop of low-fat acidophilus yoghurt
  • 1 cup of fresh fruit (try bananas and mixed berries)

Method: Stir all ingredients together in a bowl until they’re well mixed. Serve with your regular milk, soy milk or rice milk.

Apply liberally to a clean face, avoiding the delicate eye area. Lie back and relax for 25-30 minutes, before rinsing off with warm water.

Method: Place the oats on a chopping board and rub with your hand or a rolling pin until it forms a powder.   • 1 capsule natural vitamin E oil (d-alpha-Tocopherol)

Method: Mix the yoghurt, acai, parsley, honey and lavender oil together in a bowl, combining well. Pierce the vitamin E capsule and stir the oil into the mixture. Apply generously, avoiding the delicate eye area. Lie back and relax for 10 - 20 minutes before rinsing off gently with warm water.
